That Smell Coming From Your Drain Has Nothing To Do With Cleaning
Every floor drain has a water seal that's supposed to block sewer gas. When it dries out, there's nothing left down there stopping it — or the bugs that come with it.
You've scrubbed that corner of the bathroom more times than you can count. Bleach, drain cleaner, a new mat — the smell always comes back a few days later.
That's because it was never a cleaning problem. Every floor drain relies on a small reserve of water sitting in the pipe to block sewer air from rising back up. In a bathroom that isn't used daily, that water evaporates — and once it's gone, the seal is gone with it. Nothing physically stops the smell, or whatever's crawling up the pipe behind it.
The JOSHKAS Drain Seal replaces that missing water barrier with a flat silicone cover that sits over the grate. Water still drains straight through the slots. Nothing comes back up.
Why You'll Love It
✅ Water goes down, air doesn't come up — blocks smell and bugs at the source instead of masking it
✅ Thick, weighted silicone that won't shift or float — sits flush against the drain even under water pressure
✅ Lift it out by the corner in one motion — no tools, no reaching into the pipe to clean it
✅ 20 × 20 cm, fits standard floor drains — lays flat over the grate you already have

FAQ
Will it fit my drain?
The cover is 20 × 20 cm and lays flat over the grate rather than fitting inside it, so it works on standard household floor drains — bathroom, basement and laundry room. Measure your grate before ordering if it is wider than 20 cm.
Does it actually stop the smell, or just cover it?
It physically covers the opening. Water pushes through the slots on its way down, and the weight of the silicone brings it back flat against the grate once the water stops. Unlike sprays or drain cleaner, there is nothing to reapply.
How do I clean it?
Lift it off by a corner and rinse it under the tap. No tools, no disassembly.
What it won't do
It won't fix a blocked pipe, and it won't help if the smell is coming from a sink or a toilet rather than the floor drain. It also drains slightly slower than an open grate — that is the trade-off for having something covering the hole.
